T&G Building In The News – Pembroke Real Estate Secures Spaces in Melbourne’s T&G Building
07 March 2018
The trend towards co-working is expanding quickly in the Australian market, with a noteworthy uptake in mobile, remote and activity based working among young professionals.
Whether you’re a freelancer, a start-up, an SME or a larger corporate business, co-working spaces are tailored to take into account the way employees like to work and provide a variety of workspaces to accommodate these needs. Think couches, private meeting rooms or your own dedicated desk in offices around the world.
And what is Pembroke Real Estate’s opinion on this?
Matthew Knight, Vice-President and Head of Australia at Pembroke Real Estate spoke to the Australian Financial Review, The Australian and The Age about the signing of flexible workspace provider Spaces at the T&G Building.
In Mr Knight’s opinion, co-working is booming in Melbourne though this won’t impact traditional workspaces. “I think [flexible and traditional office environments] can work together,” Mr Knight told The Australian. “This isn’t a case of us trying to keep up with the Joneses — if we were trying to do that we would have already launched our own product.”

More than just the latest buzzword, co-working has the power to create a sense of community, collaboration and cohesion in the fast-paced world of business.
Continuing to expand its footprint in Australia, Spaces has signed a 10-year lease across levels one and two of the T&G Building. This leasing agreement comes as Pembroke Real Estate completed the final stages of a refurbishment at the T&G Building, which commenced in January 2017.
Spaces will be a significant addition to a building that has already signed key office tenants including professional services firm Accenture and wealth manager IOOF, and was undergoing a major refurbishment set to be complete by the end of February.
Pembroke has a global relationship with Spaces’ parent company IWG, which is a tenant in its buildings in Sydney, Tokyo and elsewhere.
