T&G Building in the News: Bottega Veneta

26 September 2017

We’re pleased to share that the T&G Building has been featured in the Australian Financial Review as we announce a new luxury retail tenant – Bottega Veneta.

The article, ‘Pembroke brings Bottega Veneta to Collins Street,’ highlights that Pembroke will bring “fresh glamour” to Collins Street and its landmark T&G Building after signing upmarket Italian brand Bottega Veneta as a tenant, which will be located in the former KPMG foyer.

Bottega Veneta, part of French luxury group Kering Group which owns current T&G Building retail brand Gucci, as well as Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen, has leased a 387sq m store in a deal negotiated by Zelman Ainsworth of CBRE.

The piece notes that Bottega Veneta will join Gucci, which recently expanded into a new 420 square metre space, MaxMara and a third luxury retail tenant, yet to be announced, to the Collins Street retail offering.

Matthew Knight, head of Australia for Pembroke Real Estate, is quoted throughout the article, noting that there was a distinct lack of space for luxury retailers at the top end of Collins Street, “It’s very tightly held so any opportunity is highly sought after by new players.”

The article showcases that Pembroke took control of the heritage T&G Building in 2015, hiring architects Bates Smart to bring fresh life to the 12-storey tower.

We look forward to sharing more media coverage on the T&G Building in our next ‘T&G Building in the News’ blog post.
